Three nations, one delivery plan

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have renewed their joint commitment to staging AFCON 2027 after continued engagement with the Confederation of African Football. Pamoja 2027 will be the competition’s first edition shared by three host countries.

That scale makes cooperation essential. Venue readiness, border movement, transport, accommodation, security and fan services all need to operate as parts of one regional experience, even as each country presents its own character.

Progress under continental review

A strategic meeting in Kampala brought CAF representatives together with regional officials to assess preparations and the standards still to be met. Uganda’s State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwang, highlighted recent experience with major continental football events as proof that the region can deliver at scale.

The work reaches beyond stadium construction. Host cities must connect airports, roads, public transport, team bases and match venues while ensuring visitors receive clear information throughout their stay.

A tournament shaped by East Africa

A three-country finals gives supporters more than a sequence of matches. It creates routes through major cities, coastal destinations, cultural centres and natural landscapes, with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda each contributing a distinct welcome.

Attention now turns from ambition to visible readiness: completed venues, tested movement plans and dependable visitor guidance. Ticketing, hospitality and official travel details should be treated as confirmed only when issued by authorised tournament organisers.
